In May this year, EC&M Limited (ECM) formed a strategic Joint Venture (JV) partnership with CPC Project Design Pty Ltd (CPC) named Mineral Process Engineering & Construction (MPEC). Evolution Mining has recently awarded MPEC the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract to design, construct and commission the Flot Tail Leach Project at the company’s Cowal Gold Operations in NSW.
The project will commence in December 2017 with turnkey civil, structural, mechanical piping, electrical and instrumentation activities and is scheduled to finish in August 2018. The JV brings together the key strengths of both companies: CPC’s in design, engineering, procurement and management of mining process plant projects, and ECM’s in the delivery of the construction phase of large scale, multidiscipline, mining and resource projects.
The parties have worked closely together over the past few months to create a compelling tender offering that highlighted the solid experience, complementary skillsets and close cultural alignment of ECM and CPC. ‘MPEC is actively tendering similar opportunities with the Cowal Project representing an important foundation project for what’s expected to be an on-going, mutually beneficial JV,’ Ryan Weeks, General Manager – Projects, said.
CPC was established in 2011 in West Perth and is a multidiscipline engineering design, procurement, construction and project management team comprising of 75 personnel. It has developed a reputation for delivering practical and cost-effective services to the resource industry.
